ESC Settings

Hi All.

Can anyone answere the following questions;

1. Boost settings, what do they mean. What does the degrees setting relate to? .
2. When does the boost setting become useful, is it for in field or for the straight?
3. Same questions for the turbo timing, what does it all mean and what is the difference between boost and turbo?

Hope someone can help, feeling very confused!!!! :thumbdown::thumbdown:

What Matt said rings true. I used to run an 8.5 with 40 boost and 20 turbo and it was insane but I ended up making more mistakes so i found it better to just run a 6.5 with nothing added

And I run an 8.5 with boost and turbo switched on. Get 8.5 driveability on the twisties, and insane point and squirt on the straights.

And as far as I understand, boost is progressively added timing, I.e. adds 0,5 degree/thousand rpm.
Turbo is added once you get to 100% throttle, and it's done degrees/second (and on mine you can add a delay.)

Might be worth checking the manual for your esc just to check, as I've not touched mine for months.

I don't use drag brake either. I like my to know the car will go as fast and brake when my thumb tells it to. Will all this tech make me faster with my reactions at my age? I doubt it. Less is sometimes more

This is all sound I fo guys but I still do t understand what the degrees relate to, How does it all work??????

Similar to timing on a car, the more degrees advance you have the hotter and harder the engine runs and the more fuel it uses.

Until it explodes.

Just experiment. Start with no timing, no boost, no turbo, then add some.
Timing is useful if your motor is under powered.
Turbo is useful for courses with big open straights.
Boost can do either.
There are few hard and fast rules, just guidelines.

You have looked at the manual/homepage for your particular esc haven't you?
