How does LiPo compares to a 6 cell NiMh? Do I have to put in a slower motor when running LiPo to make the car driveble? I run a 6.5novak light now in 2wd on dirt and it's more than enough. A 7.5, 8.5(lrp)?

It depends on the Lipo you use. What do you have in mind?
If you put a 3200mah 20C pack in, it will be equivalent to a good pack of Nimhs.
But if you put in a 3600mah 30C pack in, it'll be a lot faster and id drop a motor wind to cope with it, and deduct some curve on your tranny throttle exponential.

I was thinking of the trakpower 20C packs. They look nice:D...

Completely agree with chris, the budget packs with lower capacity and say 20C will feel like normal (good) nimh's. But a high capacity 30C packs will be like dropping a whind at least IMHO.
Last year I ran 6.5L and 7.5R in 2wd with NIMH, now on a big Lipo I'm on 7.5L(when I get one as using R at the moment) and 8.5R's.
Outdoors I'm planning/expecting to run a 6.5L in 4wd and 7.5L in 2wd at most tracks.
