View Full Version : Is the end in in sight
It looks that the end is in sight for anything other than a forward motor car and the death of the mid motor car is imminent on any surface other than loose dirt.
I wonder how far forward the motor can go before the concept does not work

Based on? As far as I can see MM are still performing well.

Yokomo just released a new MM car and I saw a ton of guys switch from the KF (FM) to the yokomo, so Im not sure that what you are seeing is necessarily a national problem, every club tends to have its ebb and flow of trends.

I was very impressed with my RB6 first time out on astro last weekend at the Bradby Cup at RHR
I ran the KF last year which was awesome but fancied a change and to be honest my pace is about the same with both cars!
Thanks, interesting comments and glad to hear that other drivers have made the transition back to the mid motor set up.

What is this new car you mention

Unfortunately yes in the dry and indoors, mid motor cars are still going to be very competitive on slippery astro grass and dirt tracks.

Xray XB2 looks to be switching to MM rather than the forward motor from before, and they seem pretty forward thinking in their designs.
Yokomo YZ-2 seems to be pulling in the results at the top level, against MM and FM cars, they have had good response from club level drivers too, and they are rare as rocking horse shit in the second hand market, unlike its closest and newer FM competitor.
Im not seeing any trend to FM.
