Saturday & Sunday 15th and 16th August 2015 at Stotfold Model Car Club.

Format:
Saturday 2WD / Trucks / Vintage heats.
Sunday 4WD and Charity Buddy Race.

Camping:
Tents are free but you can make a donation to the Buddy Race Charity.
Caravans £10.

Charity Buddy Race:
One person throttle! One person steers! Teams of 2.
All proceeds to Great Ormond Street Hospital For Children.

Entry Fee:
£8 per day members.
£10 per day non-members.
(Entry per day and not per class!)
£5 per team Charity Buddy Race (or whatever you would like over £5!)

Phew!!

What a weekend at the first FULL THROTTLE SUMMER WEEKENDER! We had a great turn out from all levels of driver, from beginners and juniors (always great to see the juniors as they are the future after all) through to BRCA National winners and the NEW EFRA European Champion; Lee Martin!

First off I need to thank our Sponsors for the event, namely Absima & Team C, plus Inside Line Models who provided such great raffle prizes, including a top of the range Revenge CTS10 ESC, CTC-1 Digital Charger, High Tensile Screw Kits, Tee Shirts, Tools, Consumables and more! Inside Line Models also provided shop support for our racers so massive thanks to Kev and Ana Lee for that.


All the prizes were entered into the raffle and we had a raffle on both Saturday and Sunday, which combined with the charity buddy race raised a great deal for our nominated charity; Great Ormond Street Hospital For Children.


The weather was also kind to us with hot sun all weekend with a little cloud on Sunday, but the temperature was always nice. Nobody went hungry either due to Kay and The Really Great Pizza Company providing stone-baked pizzas for the masses of drivers and their families! We were also privileged to have lots of little children running around (safely) in the pits turning our considerable pit space into little play areas. This all contributed to the fun atmosphere; especially when the ice cream van turned up…


Track design was by Team C and Inside Line Models driver; Alex Carter who designed two really good layouts with one aimed at 2wd and one aimed at 4wd. Everyone seemed to enjoy the tracks at all levels of ability so well done Alex!



There was far more track action to report than I can do here, but suffice to say at the business end of the day we saw some exciting racing, wheel-to-wheel and nose-to-tail challenges, big air and the occasional flying wheel after things got too much!


2wd saw Absima & Team C and Inside Line Models driver Kev Lee take TQ with LMR and Team Yokomo’s Lee Martin taking the 2wd Full Throttle Summer Weekender title for 2015.


4wd saw Lloyd Storey from Team Schumacher take TQ with Absima & Team C and Inside Line Models driver Kev Lee taking the 4wd Full Throttle Summer Weekender title for 2015.


The Charity Buddy Race on Sunday was also a great laugh with far better driving on display than you might have thought! Team Kev Lee won the Buddy Race title with Alex Carter & Ian “Mad Man TBR” Buck coming in second and top boys John and Joe Renton in third!



Lastly I’d like to thank all the Stotfold crew who helped with the considerable leg-work involved in putting on an event like this. Most of all though I’d like to thank the RC racers who came to drive against the best at one of the best tracks in the country!
