View Full Version : New Motor Alternative?

Hello

I'm running a 7.5T motor in a 2wd buggy, the top-end speed of which isn't being fully utilised given the relatively small size of the local track.

Rather than purchasing a new 8.5T or 10.5T motor, couldn't I instead just reduce the throttle end-point on my transmitter to, say, around 85%? Or am I missing out on something that only a slower motor could offer?

Cheers

If u mean the motor never hit max rpm I would try gearing it to just hits top speed around 4/5 th down the longest straight that y u will get a lot more torque out of the corners from having a higher fdr

Turning down the end point will work just fine and save you some £££, it will make the throttle feel alot softer as your 85% throttle is spread out over 100% of the stick travel. Increasing the FDR to limit top speed would also work but you would still have all that torque available to you all of the time, ie not as easy to drive as the endpoint "soft" option.
