Have bought a used ball diff what needs a rebuild can anyone recommend replacement balls and the best grease to use

Get carbide diff balls (Xray 930120), flip & sand the diff rings and glue them with Loctite 648 glue so the rings stay put.
Take care when running in the diff and you will have smooth diff for months.

is this gluing xray specific?

Most manufacturers recommend diff lub between the diff rings and outdrives.

I have even glued once an associated b4 diff by mistake thinking that was the 'proper' way to do it. But it made the diff react very rough. Since that day, I never ever glue diff rings.

I have even glued once an associated b4 diff by mistake thinking that was the 'proper' way to do it. But it made the diff react very rough. Since that day, I never ever glue diff rings.

The Loctite glue is just that……a Loctite glue.

Reason for doing this is because the rings are too soft and the ceramic balls are too hard.

When using carbide balls the diff rings are still too soft but gluing the rings prevent the rings from spinning and the balls getting pressed into the rings.

We've ran this setup ever since before the ball diff was out to the public.

Works well ;)
