Hello Ian
Not sure about 1/8th, but diff oil is dependant on what track surface you run on. For less grippy tracks use a lower numbered oil and more grip go for higher.
In Joe's 1/10th buggy we have 10000 in front, 7500 in rear and 200,000 in centre and this seems to work well in most places. For very high grip would probably up front to 15000 and rear to 10000.

Generally you need lighter weights in 1/8th diffs. I believe the kit setup for an AE RC8e is 5:5:5 front, centre and rear. The JQ "The electric car" uses 5:7:3 so somewhere around either of those should get you started.
