Internet on a DS Lite

OK, I have recased the kids DS Lite's so they know whose is whose, but need to know how to set up the internet through WiFi on it.

Anyone know how, reading up, it appears you need to have the game in there that is wifi capable first?

You can get a web browser on the R4, M3 etc but from memory you need a DS Flash card in slot-2 as well?
