good question
i know the original idea was 2wd in the am & 4wd in the pm but the addition of micros means more time between runs if doing 2 classes which might make it better to run "all day" so to speak
hopefully somebody from the club can clarify this??
also maybe we should show some interest to help with prebooking to save some time on the day ;)

2wd 2.4Ghz
4wd 2.4Ghz

I'll have to give it a miss then unfortunately. Only reason I could make it was because I thought it started late morning\early afternoon.

The format will be that 2WD race in the morning and the 4WD & Micro's race in the afternoon.
Doors open at 7.30am with 2WD kicking off at around 9-9.30am.
This should mean that 4WD can start around 1pm so no need to get up too early for you guys :D
The burger van will be there all day so please use it.
Please pre register if you have not already done so to save us some time.

Hi. I'm new to this forum, but hopefully going to make it on Sunday. It's been some time since I've done any buggy racing, and most of that was outdoors. Any tire and gearing advice? I run an RC10 B2 and Losi XX4. I've just got back into racing after a 10 year school and uni break and have only been racing touring cars.
Any advice on gearing for 10.5t brushless, and is this going to be quick enough. The youtube vids of Newbury suggest that top end speed isn't the be all and end all, but will a 10.5 be quick enough? I still have my decade old Reedy TriSonic motors aswell and might be a bit quicker with those
Also tire advice. I have just got myself some Schumacher yellow Minipins all round for both cars. I used to run stagger ribs indoors on the 2wd, do I need some of these too?
Any advice for an old school Retro Racer would be much welcome as I don't want to make a fool of myself :-)
Ben
(If it all hits the fan I might break out my Reedy Zapper 1700 SCRC's, Hows that for a blast from the past!)

yellow minipins will be the tyre of choice so you'll be fine there
as for gearing as long as you have a few pinions it wont be too hard to get you where you need to be ;)

Great meeting today :D
Very relaxed with a great track layout and plenty of racing for everyone!!
Thanks to all that attended and especially to those who stayed behind to help put things away, it is much appreciated. ;)
We propose that the next Sunday meeting will be on the 25th Jan '09.
Till then merry xmas and happy new year from all the guys at Newbury RC Club.:D
