On the posted set-ups the axle height spacer is being ticked as LOW.
does this mean the spacer is under the steering block i.e the spacer is low or above the block as per instructions making the block LOW.

The reason I ask is, if you put the spacer under the block, the top ball joint for the steering sits higher up and would need a spacer between it and the hub carrier. By putting the spacer low it not only alters the height of the steering block but it is also altering the roll centres by moving the outer link upwards.

I had the same question in the setup section.
Unfortunately nobody replied.
A general description of the effects when doing modifications would be very helpful.
Maybe someone has an 'helpfile' for the setupsheet.

hm, quite difficult to explain with my:wtf: poor english:

the whole story about that spacer, and changing he steeringknuckle from left to right is all about the roll center.
i mean it changes the hight of the axle in relation to the under suspension arm.
if you got the axle high, to roll center will move closer to the center of gravity. it will also make the car "hanging" more in the suspension, that means some kind of smoother, but there will be more dynamic weight difference between the front wheels-more understeer entering the turn, but less exiting it.
the axle lower makes the car more twitchy, but it has due to bigger lever between c.g and roll center more turn in, because dynamic weight difference between the front wheehll is less. ( more bj4 style entering a turn)

i hope you understand what i want to say.

Thanks Maurice,
So you change the steering knuckles over, I will try that but do you still need to put a spacer above the caster block as the ball joint will not screw down fully?

Hi
yes, the spacer is still on the upper side of the knuckle.
i always try to run the axle of the wheel as possible as low.
because at the place where i race, we have the problem, that the blowjobs ( bj 4 ) can enter a turn much faster than we do with our lazers.
we are faster in mid corner and exit...but if you got an blowjob coming in entering a turn, you have it in front of you exiting it...
