Is there a big difference in 7x1 and 10x1?

Same motor in this case Team Orion V2 Revolution 10x1 and the same motor but 7x1, will there big a big difference in power? I'm thinking of getting a 7T now if I can get one cheap enough as I just want all out balls power:woot:

sorry i dont have much experience with brushed motors but in brushless there is a huuugge difference in power in a 3.5 (7t) and a 5.0t (10t)

have fun but be careful both a 7t and 10t will be rapid especially with lipo or 6 cell. :D have fun

Cheers for the reply mate. It will still be running off a 7.2V NiMH but I just bought a new 7.2V pack so it should make the most of it. I bought a 10T V2 a few days ago but I'm thinking if whilst a got a bit of spare cash just to sell the 10T again unused and go 7T. My ESC should take it no problem.

I dont think theres any need what so ever for that much power in off road, i run 19t brushless equiv. in 2wd indoors and im competative most of the time. Id say for brushed a 14t in 2wd and 12t in 4wd is plenty.

you'll never get chance to use that kind of power on the track as there won't be enough track to get any power down unless you race on a stupidly big track???? A 10t is plenty powerfull! Maybe too much! I'd run a 12t indoors and 11t outdoors most of the time. Only touring car drivers use that kind of speed. 7t is mad! I've tried an 8t and it was fun but just stupid and got too hot.

It is to go in a touring car guys and I don't do club racing, just outdoors and at the local park where people get together and create a track. To give you an idea of what I'm used to power wise for the last 3 years I've been running a HPI R40 with a Picco .15 P1-R Evo Eduardo Picco modified motor with RD Logics Turbo II pipe. I was into electrics prior to getting into nitro and back then had a 12T Modified Kyosho motor in a touring car which was fast but the R40 was just in a different league altogether for acceleration and top end. Handling the power isn't a problem for me.
