I noticed today that my bmax 4 iii started to seem quite coggy, crunchy as well going off throttle

-it seemed to happen on and off during practice today and I outruled the sensor cable as without it, it should still not run this rough

Things I've checked

-no binding in drive shafts
-spur teeth fine
-i use the sound method to mesh and even at its most quiet it seems a bit rougher than normal
-disconnected the slipper unit from the front and centre shafts and throttled it, still was coggy, even binding a little

My motor recently had some off power noises, tried to blow out any debris, oiled the bearings. Motor Spins fine with no load

The slipper pads are possibly on their way out but wouldn't think this would cause it under no load. The unit itself has possibly seen 100+ cycles.

Something tells me that the motor could be the issue even though I can't figure out what. Doesn't seem to be play from the shaft when I wiggle it.

Bad bearings?

Don't be fooled by the motor running fine with NO load.

Running WITH load is a whole other story.
Check the bearings of the slipper.

If the car is "cogging" while braking. You should check the front (and rear) diff gear and planet gear. Front takes a lot of stress while braking.

Figured it out.

Motor is stuffed. Either bearings were on the way out or maybe not aligned. Funny thing is it's intermittent. Time to get a replacement.
