Hi All

I have this battery

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/catalog/23816.jpg

its for my Futaba 4GRS transmitter.

I have a Dynamite Passport 100w charger, that will charge LiFePo4 (LiFe) batteries.

It asks what the charge rate and end cell voltage should be, but I am not sure what they should be.

The hobbyking website says:

Capacity(mAh) 2100
Config (s) 2
Discharge (c) 20
Weight (g) 103
Max Charge Rate (C) 5

So charge rate I guess is 2.1A x 5 so around 10A but I'm happy to charge at a lower rate say 5A.

However what should the end cell voltage be?

Sorry if I sound dull, its a bit new to me and this is the only LiFe battery I have!

Cheers

Graham

I am a bit surprised that the battery can be charged at upto 5c...!
I would stick to 1c....I.e. 2.1amps.
As for end voltage, that's not a question chargers normally ask. However, Life batteries are 3.3v per cell so yours is 6.6v. I would be inclined to set max voltage at that and see what happens. Having said that, my Life batteries peak at about 7.2v.

Thanks Aire valley

Yeah, I think I agree with you on the 1C/2C.

It says 2S/7.2v default, however it then says "End Cell Volt 3.6v" which is amendable, I guess it knows what it should be?

Like you say 7.2v still a little confused!

The end cell volt of 3.6 is, of course, per cell.....so a 2 cell battery would be 7.2 v as I suggested. Just make sure you set charger up for 2 cell and you will be fine.
