New steering servo advice for 1/10 electric?

Hi

I think I might have to buy a new steering servo soon which is a bit of a bind on my wallet!:blush::lol:

I'd love a KO RSx2 Response Servo but they look really expensive, although very good quality I am sure:thumbsup:

I was just wondering if a Spektrum S6040 High Speed Surface servo was a reasonable alternative as it is a fair chunk cheaper, and only slightly inferior comparing the specs..

I have always found with model car racing 'buy cheap, buy twice' so if the KO is better in the long run I will opt for that but if anyone has any experience from running this Spektrum servo I would really appreciate it.

Key for me is if they can take a crash or two......:blush::thumbsup:

Have a look at x-pert servos price in between Savox and the high end stuff but just as good some times better spec
I use it in my to and love it really fast strong and lots of torque
Also popular with off-road

Xpert for sure, got two, in buggies, no servo saver malarkey, and they have been rock solid!

This is a really good servo normally retails for £90+ i know the guy who's selling it and its blip, drop him a pm i'm sure he'll do a better price for someone on here

Xpert is and are very good, I switched these few years ago never had a one to bad.

Is the Xpert RC SI-4431 the one to go for on a budget? The only thing I am a bit worried about is that it is rated between 4.8v - 6.6v when I thought on an electric buggy, 7.4 volts is delivered to the servo from receiver, although might be wrong on that....

It's usually either 6 or 7.2V from ESC to receiver (and then through to the servo) Most 10th scale ESCs (all 10ths?) will be 6V.

8ths tend to be 7.2.

Need to look at the BEC output to be sure. (All my 10ths are 6V and somewhere between 2 and 3A, 8th is switchable between voltages and 3A)

I checked the output from the receiver and this was 6.2v which is in range for that servo, so I think I'll go for it once I get paid:thumbsup:

Think the 6.2v will be the maximum the receiver can handle. The actual output will still be controlled by the maximum esc voltage (6v)
