tyre wear

Run my B-MAX about 4 times now just runnung around the local tarmac carpark, using a mild modified 17t motor so nothing too hot.

For some reason the front tyres have worn very badly and are virtualy as bald as my head.

The car handles ok and slides at the rear slightly when cornering but there is no wear on the rear tyres.

Built standard as kit instructions, could it be the diffs or clutch not adjusted properly?

New to this so could someone help on this and how should the diffs be set loose/tight etc.

Could someone also recomend on what replacement tyres to buy?

Off-road tyres will wear out very quickly if used on tarmac, and the fronts take most of the punishment, so totally normal wear.

If the car still handles OK then those worn slick spikes are probably as good as any other tyre you could buy for a buggy on tarmac.

if there is no wear at all on the rear, i would check to see if you have drive on the rear wheels.....the rears should have some wear on them if the front are bald.

Fronts wear more because the rear is so hooked up the front end pushes, therefore wears the tires more.

Thanks for your reply, after speaking to several people seems all you guys are wright, these tyres are designed for clay/dirt tracks.

Was advised to use my old tyres run them as slicks for tarmac and use fresh tyres for off road.

Still not sure though as to what effect the diffs make to the handling of a car, guess i will have to experiment with loose/tight settings and see what happens.

Don't experiment too much - if your diffs are anything like mine, Yokomo built them well out of the box.

They should not slip and should turn smoothly, with the front a little tighter than the rear. Beyond that there is no more diff tuning required.
