LSTC in Italy, LSOR in France.
RC TV are on from 9am tomorrow. Current running order from free practice has Orlowski on top, followed by Neumann and Martin.

This Euro coverage is painful! The commentators clearly know nothing about the drivers or RC in general it's awful. Even Nick Daman has a bit of humour to keep you interested.
Not enjoyable at all

Yeah Oli Meggitt last year at RHR did a great job, but the guys they have sent out this year are painful to listen to. Hopefully they will get some different commentators out later in the week. Tom Cockerill should get on the MIC, he's ace.

They said Nick was there from Wednesday, but have to admit unless you are sat there watching it all day there is very little in the way of updates or event coverage from the likes of Red RC.
Pity really.

Adam is a very good friend of mine and is a well respected motorsport journalist. His work with RC TV started literally last week - he's been thrown in at the deep end with only basic knowledge of RC racing and it's a very steep learning curve.
To those who are very well versed in 1/10 off road there might be a few rough edges, but for your average viewer it strikes a good balance of being informative without being overwhelming. I've been helping him with details as much as I can and the coverage is improving with each day.

Have to agree, I was just saying this today to somebody whos there, great coverage to see every practise/qualifier but its painful with the lack of 10th knowledge. Their craic is horrendous aswell but its better than not being available. Wheres DC these days?? He was by far the best commentator weve had in recent times. His commentary for Nationals was great too.
Any websites doing pics, chassis focus etc?

The bloke doing the commentary for the euros could put a glass eye to sleep. Where are the normal crew. They did the 1/8th off-road euros and it was fantastic.

An actual serpent or a serpent stickered up Durango which he has run in the past?

I stand corrected - I think it might be 2 from 5 and not 3 from 5 so that would make Neil TQ - Can't believe 2 from 5 though
So Associated TQ the Euros - but I guess you know this by now :p
(sorry Tony)
It was VERY close. The timing site does show best 2 from 5 and with two round wins each counting looks like Neil takes it on fastest time - but A massive 0.129 of a second :wtf:
Jorn looks more consistent though - Neil was flat out in the last quali to do it.

commentry is banal, no information on the cars only repeats the name of three corners. better to watch with the sound off

Well at one point yesterday, Juraj Hudy posted that Jorn was running xray!! That was changed fairly quickly though. It was posted on an interview somewhere that there would be a few prototype / other cars parts on his car.
EFRA has been 2 from 5 for years, although I agree it's a bit odd.

The lack of information on the cars is due to some restrictions on what Adam is allowed to talk about! Unfortunately references to specific brands is a no-no as part of the broadcasting deal.

They provide covering for EOS or other eastern mongolia championships but not the euro's ???? come on !

Felt like a real non event. Not even the standard of a BRCA national across the field in my opinion

He could sound more enthusiastic about the racing. Worst coverage I've seen from RC racing tv. Also not being able to talk about brands at an EFRA run meeting why not. 99% of the viewers will race 10th and they will want to know what each brand is running also any new parts that may become available.

They're there because of their sponsors and they have to adhere to whatever they say - Adam has been told specifically what he is and isn't allowed to talk about. The viewers' interests don't matter unfortunately.
He's very much enthusiastic about the racing, but when you have very little to work with, and you're speaking alone about something you became familiar with last Wednesday, it's hard to stretch out hours of coverage.
This is free coverage guys - it's also free from advertising and it's non-stop broadcasting every day - you're getting to watch the racing live with a commentator. Be grateful for what you're getting, regardless of how it stands up to previous coverage, because it could be a hell of a lot worse. Try watching LiveRC's streams... 30 seconds of a static camera with no commentary with 2 minutes of Associated ads in between!

The coverage has been shocking!
Following the wrong cars, pronouncing names wrong, the commentator is that bad I've watched most of the coverage this week on silent! it's that poor.
During A final leg 3 they followed Jorn for about 5-6 laps and even zoomed in on him whilst he was stationary on his roof! Meanwhile Neil And Michael where fighting for the win.

Ha ha...yeah, that was winding me up....was potentially the race for the win for Cragg and they show Jorn upside down.....and that was nothing to do with the commentator....that was the camera man!!!

give the poor old commentator a break as previously mentioned he was "Dropped" into with less than a weeks notice
It appears he couldn't mention "brands" so his hands are tied research into drivers may have yielded a bit more info agreed
camera work is not under his control
all in all he did an OK job we as "experienced r/c fans have a massive advantage and remember we watched it for free
(I was only watching because im off work sick genuine :thumbsup:

Couldn't have said it better myself. :)
This is a FREE service ! It's better than nothing, think about only a few years ago were we would have to find out about results via text message etc. The RC RACING.TV team have done great work over the years. Maybe we have been spoilt due to the fantastic coverage at RHR 2015 euro's of last year . This poor guy has been thrown into the deep end and the rest of the crew have been spread around the other events. It is unfortunate that commentary is restricted due to sponsorship or EFRA, sign of the times ! Didn't stop DC last year though :lol::lol:

I guess we have been spoilt in the past at some other events im sure our commentator has learnt a great deal of our side of motorsport in 3 days which no doubt will stand him in good stead for the future

the guys whp put this out are all top blokes, and often there sat outside with little in the way of protection from the weather.
id say its efra that restrict what they can say as the brca uk meetings they have done, they are less restricted.

Guys I'm afraid that Adam was given a bit of a bum steer by someone at the last event in Italy
There is no ban on mentioning any manufacturer or product on the EFRA streams
Blimey I do it all the time!
I have informed him and it will be sorted tomorrow :-)

Been watching it last couple of days,to be honest I thought he was doing ok after reading how new to it he is,maybe use a neo trick and ask a racer to do the pit walks as they were a bit woeful with his total lack of Knowledge  and the new and unknown racer in the A Mr Martin Lee:blush:
I would like to see the camera move out a bit sometimes so we can see some of the other cars on track,as I suspect most people watching the live feed are avid racers like me and want to see more than just the fastest car go round, we want to see the whole field.
I think the most disappointing thing about the Euros is the lack of quite a few big names:confused::cry:

A lot of top drivers missing ...:thumbdown:
it still a nice race, but not really an euro level...
Anyone seen any 'under shell' shots of the top 3 cars? Heard a rumour that Orlowski was using a TLR laydown G'box!

Neil had a driveshaft or outdrive go before leg 1, leg 2 they realised his diff had gone in the wrong way. Bruno didn't get to his grid slot in time because they put the wrong numbers on.

Neil broke it in the warmup in leg 1 and Bruno changed shells and only put 1 number on instead of 3 I believe? Or at least that's what JQ's report suggested.
