I am having some issues on both of my lads cars where the cars are intermittently jumping when say still, and the steering twitches... They creep forwards when parked up on the grid etc...
Both are running DX3S with orange DSM RX.
Any ideas?
Ta.

Are you running a reciever capacitor and have you got the throttle trim zeroed correctly on the radio ?

Thanks for the reply.

I believe that the throttle is zeroed correctly...

I'm not familiar with receiver caps. What do they do?

There called a glitch buster - it seems to be only spektrum brand radios that are affected and was one of the reasons I swapped to sanwa in the end as I kept getting what your experiencing.

This is a link to what one looks like but most U.K. Model shops will sell them

Brilliant. Thank you. That sounds just the ticket.

Presumably this is in addition to the esc capacitor?

Yes totally seperate part - you plug it into a spare reciever port

Tim..... I have used my Spektrum DX2s with both Orange or Spektrum receivers in all my cars and a boat and have never had this problem. I would suggest something else, sensor wire, esc., is causing the problem.

Hi!
The question is: what Orange Rx?
The old GR300 is perfectly compatible with Spektrum radios: I have a few and they work perfectly with my DX3R.
The new GR300R however does not look to be compatible: I bought one at risk and have a lot of glitches, the car is almost undrivable.
..I was actually going to ask the forum if anyone knows what Tx is compatible with the GR300R.. non Orange, of course..

I had the same issue with DX3e and SR300, tried a cap but problem returned after a few meets, sent receiver to Horizon UK they reported no fault found but sent a new RX and never had a problem since ( I have a DX4s, DX3e and. DX2m all since that problem have been fault less)

I thought the caps were more for Savox servos as they draw at fall load more then most esc Bec can handle (6v 3amps ) I have run spectrum and never had a problem it's more glitchy if u have another brand with a module the pins become loose with age

Also orange receiver are dms2 which is only the r in the dx3 range ( dx3r)
They have been known to work but it's not meant for that system so can't moan if it glitches

I would try a cap as said won't damage ur car rebind just incase if ur servo speed is 100% turn it down 3-5% just ideas, do u have a good brand esc

If all fail get the right receiver if still glitches ? Email spectrum most company's will give u ideas

The TX is a dx3s, but an older DSM version. The RX are gr300r. I did get a gr300, but they aren't DSM compatible.
My lads have identical setups, and we have similar issues on each, so I'm inclined to say is not a faulty unit issue.
Ive made some caps up this week and run the cars, and my initial impression is that it seemed to have solved the issues, but we'll see how we get on at the weekend...

Interesting..
Please let us know how it goes after some testing.
What cap are you using?
Cheers

These are the caps...

They're the same spec as the spekky OEM ones, but much cheaper to make yourself!

No joy. It was completely intolerable at the weekend, caps or no caps... Fitted some spekky Rx and the problem disappeared... Shame.
