Sorry for the lack of meeting this winter but due to cost issues with the sports centre and Di bieng in Hospital we have had to give things a miss.

Di is now fit and well & we plan to hold 2 INDOOR club meetings on

15th Feb 10am start &
1st March 10am Start

Due to increased costs race fee for the above meeting will be £7 for all

the Regional is as published on the 8th March

SuperCup will be held on the 15th March

Supercup entry details will be published later this week

We hope you will all support the club and help us get back on track to ensure the future of the club in 2009 and beyond.

Stephen Lawson.

so.....?

so.....?

SO the distance between the two is very close and both events may suffer from small entries where as if they were on different dates then both events can get max enteries which will give both clubs better funds

i kind of thought that i would not have anyneed to explain but you must be a special case.

Are you asking for a slap or what

I agree with your logic, but there are probably more people than you think who would go to Batley and not Bury and Bury and not Batley. I have said many times before that clubs in our area should co-ordinate fixtures better, but with such a tight calendar I suppose there will always be clashes

Sorry, but I'm out of the country, so the club website will not be updated for a week :(

I do have to agree, a date not clashing with Bury would be greatly advantageous.

As the Nationals are starting a month later this year and April is looking quiet would it not be better to run the new Batley meetings so that they don't clash so closely?

The 15th of Feb and the 15th march both clash with Bury who have done a good job in keeping the North West/Yorkshire contingent racing this winter.

I would love to support both venues so if it could be changed I think it would make more sense.

Unfortunately we are not in a position to have any other dates, we felt we wanted to give the racers the opportunity to run indoors at Batley prior to the regional and super cup and the date are the only ones available.

So much for interclub cooperation.

I read this line "only ones available" - I guess that means Batley either clashes or simply doesn't race. Unfortunate but nothing to do with cooperation I think.

So Jimmy.... when are you going to pay Bury's new venue a visit then? I believe woOdy's been trying to get you to come down, to give the club abit of publicity.. be good to see you...

I will be obvioulsy supporting Bury, if the dates hadnt have clashed i would have supported this meet...

On the 15th march at Bury we will be running to our usual format.. Januarys meet had 100 drivers (our 3rd ever meet!), we are hopeing for the same on the 15th February and for March... Dont forget we give two kits away as prizes on the day.. last meet we gave away a BMAX and a B4 Stealth

Same high grip surface, the more worn your minipins/mini spikes are the better!! Plus we have purchased more wood now for better jumps etc

Cheers

I believe the first one clashed (........lol) with Worksop? and I'd already commited miself. Then maybe the next one was whilst I was in Australia - then maybe the next one while vicky was away or working, not sure. Etc.. I know the last one was whilst I was at the Petit race.
I think I talked to Stu Evans about it at the York 24h and I told him I really wanted to go - so, hopefully I'll be able to come to the next one yep. :p

No probs mate.. one did clash with the J Concepts Clash do.. none have clashed with Worksop though as we worked our dates round these..last one was the weekend of the Petit... So maybe we'll see you at the Feb / March do... you wont be disapointed!

Like Richard, I'd have done both if I could!

Things do get congested in winter, Worksop/Bury/Broxtowe/one off's like Petit and Southport GP, then regionals!! Maybe for next winter look at championships involving several different clubs, but individual meeting prizes or something?

Medders

yes, a multi-club championship would be cool. I'll be at batley on 15th feb, the regional and the supercup. can't make the meeting on the 1st though.

Sorry to sound like a compete nonce, but are none BRCA lipo saddles allowed at the supercup? Not sure if its a BRCA event. I am a bit thick .

Col

It's not a BRCA event, so it's upto the club how they play this one. Batley is usually a well and sensibly run club so I'd expect commom sense to prevail

Hopefully so, I hope to be sorted by then but its hard to imagine everyone will have their cells at that point, given stock issues etc that will likely occur when the list comes out!

My sentiments exactly.

If these truly are the only dates available from the sports center, it really is a tragedy. In these difficult times, clubs do need to work together as much as possible.

maybe silly question but why carn't the supercup be held on the 1st march rather than the 15th seem like alot of people want to attend both events me included and it would be better for both clubs so they get as much support as possible

tell me to mind my own,but who says the supercup has to be run at batley?could it not be run at bury this year then maybe batley the next?surely steve and roger could sort something out.would be a shame for entries to be down on both.just my opinion, thanks jez.

Good idea Jez - Would be ace to see that many faces at Bury as do turn upto a Supercup meeting, Not that many dont turn upto Bury meetings anyways its always busy :)

I would disagree, there are quite a few that do batley but not bury, most of the local and younger racers who have not had a meeting all winter :(

And isn't the supercup one of the only profitable events the club runs due to the cost of the hall? If it was held elsewhere that could prevent the club being able to afford to run the smaller club meets.

I thought racing was all about having fun not seeing how much profit can be made?Or have i missed something?

Think you missed that point totally jez:lol:. Of course its not to make a profit - but the larger meetings subsidise the smaller ones.

I also agree that the Batley "Super Cup" is a Batley event, other club have their own single races i.e. Southport GP, Teeside Aces, the Super Cup is Batleys 1 off big winter (non regional) meeting.
