Hi Gaz. All our own cars are 4wd but on the clubs night you can race any type of rc car as long as they are battery operated. Please note no oil engine rc cars are allowed on our tracks. What type is yours? Which day would suit you?

Tracks look very small what scale are you talking?
Rc Dragon
03-09-2016, 07:52 PM
The oval track dimensions : 10m x 5m
The other one : 12m x 5m.

Probably a bit small for open wheeled 1 10th buggies especially so close to the walls with no protective boards round the track, wishbones will be flying
Pitman

The protective boards around the track are two inch thick a 1/5 Scale baja couldn't break through at full chat ...lol had to admire how much work has gone into health and safety off the track

I must be looking at a different picture to you there is only a yellow tube on the side near the wall
Anyway looks good for small scale stuff and for kids parties which I'm guessing what it aimed at

Don't take it the wrong way I'm just saying I wouldn't want my lads to drive their 2wd cars round there because it would cost me a lot in repairs
The place looks great nice decor and setup I'm sure we will be down for a look and a go with the track cars

Looks cool. Always wanted to set up my own club. Much kudos. Sure it will be a success. Out of interest as I'm quiet niave (don't mean to pry). How did you do it, why, how is it funded, is it looking to make a profit (assume no club makes a profit and it just goes back into the club). Be really interested and I'm sure forum members would be to understand the process. Well done!!

Hi, thank you, yes it is pretty cool. :) People who came to race they loved it. I always wanted to set up my rc racing track centre. I think its fun, fair amount of people have it as their hobby , the kids loving it, and we are just giving an opportunity for people to have a place to race their rc cars. Or if someone just wants to try it out or just being bored on the weekends, then we have the perfect place for small and big boys to spend an afternoon here while their other half is enjoying their shopping. :) We also do birthday parties and bachelor parties, so there is lots of great things to be excited about. In the future we are planning to make another 2 tracks but Im not going to spoil the surprise :woot:

Oh, and how did I do it?
With my own 2 hands and a bit of help from my wife. Took us more than 4 months next to a full time job but it was worth all the effort. :)

Much respect and kudos.
I like it!
From a "serious racer" perspective I'd be tempted to have it all as one track, but for what you seem to be aiming for it looks spot on.
Definitely seems more 1/16 than 1/10, but pics can be deceiving...

Hi Col,
Thank you for your comment! Because its indoors its a bit more difficult. We have tried to make the most of the space given. With the pillars in the way this is the best we could come up with. Of course we do listen to the feedback from our customers and will always try to fulfill their wishes. One day we might build a big track . :)
Come and see us sometime.
Pitman

It would be gread to see a few guys down with different scale car to see how many 1/10th 1/12th mardaves ect we can push round the track and get some feedback from fellow racers.
There also is another room at the back waiting on development as the club grows
There is also roof access for drone action in the future.

Pitman

Hi foodingre
Because there are two tracks and two rostrums they could probably do 6 -7 cars per track at the same time
And how many people can they fit hmm mm...it's quite a big place with other big rooms leading of the main track room
Guess they will find out in time when the club nights start up

Hi daz75
Yes loved macctrac back in the day the cold Temps in the evening changed the grip levels and kept it interesting for the first corner in the finals lol
When you lost the old place in macc and it moved to Stockport
Rc dragon is just the other side of the motorway and the place is 3 times bigger

Yeah it's opposite pear mill isn't it drove past the other day might be worth getting some big banners made up if your allowed to put them on the a6 near the Johnstone paint signs??
Pitman
06-09-2016, 09:14 AM
There are multiple banners on the road you turn up to the mill to give good directions to people looking for the track but maybe a few put on the main road will work too

Thousands of cars a day pass there so would make sense to advertise there, means passing trade might see it rather than people who happen to turn up the side road

Good job mate. Think this place would be perfect for a stock built series.
Would have to be 12th scale or micros tho. I would be up for that once a month

Kamtecs 'IRace' system is £300 plus £13 per transponder, good place to get started.

The oval looks great! Have you thought about promoting 1/12th oval classes? Bangers, stock cars and hot rods etc. Would be ideal, and the classes are relatively cheap so a driver base would grow easily. The circuit looks cool too.. Looks like it would be really good for m chassis tamiyas.
I've got so much respect for anyone who starts a club, been involved in wrcc in wycombe for years and fully understand the commitment. Fair play mate, I really hope it's a success!

Hi Mike
Yes i have approached the local oval club / touring car club / drift club in Manchester.
with some flyers and we have had a few drivers drop in on us
I know Rome wasn't built in a day and all club start somewhere.
but we are still building the core of the club and will listen to any improvements we can make to the club.
currently we are open
Fri 6 till 10 ( next meet is 25th Nov )
Sat 10 till 6
Sun 10 till 6

It's a good club with some real potential! I do really think making the track big would be a great move and attract more drivers.
All the best for the future and hopefully il be down again when I can

Hi Dale
yes we have looked at that system too as another club locally uses a similar system and i wold make more sense to use the same system...

Hi guys
Quick Update
the new track is down and bigger than the original
but we are at it again ..........
we listened to the drivers that attended last Fridays meeting and the decision has been made to move the oval track into another room where the future rock crawling and drift track will be and make one large track in the main room.
so this track will be permanently laid and ready to race every
Friday Saturday and Sunday.
the track is open tomorrow the 25th

How big is the new track any pictures?
Pitman
24-11-2016, 05:47 PM
hi Daz
the new track will be 3 times bigger than the current one the decision was only made yesterday so removing the two existing tracks and making a new one will take some time around work ect.
