I'm looking for some advice. Currently using a cheapie Trackstar 120A Turbo v1 ESC in my 2wd. My esc has cut out a few times when I've taken a heavy landing. The steering still works, but the throttle cuts out and the lights flash on the esc for a few seconds before I can get going again. I've swapped out the receiver and am pretty sure its to do with the speed controller or sensor wire problem (I have swapped the sensor wire). I've not been able to track down the fault yet. It runs cool and is definitely only cuts the throttle if there is a collision.

Someone on Oople mentioned to me that it could be due to the fact I've got the voltage cutoff to 3.2V on the ESC and not switched it off?

I've been really happy with the speed controller and it's been performing very well over this season. It doesn't owe me anything as it was less than £40 new! Any advice or recommendations gladly received. Not sure if it can be fixed? If it cant be fixed, should I go For a Hobbyking X-Car 120A or go for something more expensive like a Toro 160A, LRP or Hobbywing?

Have you taken the esc apart to see what's losing connection to cut the esc? I did read about trackstar ones doing the same and you had to take apart and add some cushioning or padding.
The xcar escs are good, the £30 120a is very good for money and the more expensive alloy cased one is also good.

be worth checking the connections make sure there isnt a dry joint or break in one of the wires in the sensor cable.
i run these speedos with no issues and not had to make any mods to them

I disconnected the sensor cable, and it was still cutting the throttle with a big whack, with the lights flashing. It comes back and is fine after 4 or 5 seconds. I'm going to brave taking it apart to have a look
