Gears grinding

Hi, I have a strange grinding noise in my yz2's gear case and can't work out what it could be. I have Replaced:
The gear case
Top shaft
Idler gears

I have tried with my gear diff in the case as well and the same thing happens

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be?

I had an issue where I used some slightly long screws to mount the spacer used when you run the shocks on the rear. The screws pushed the gear box moulding into the top the of the diff. It only made a noise once remounted and tightened up so wasn't obvious.

I would check the bearings and make sure every thing spins freely with the other half of the gear box off, then put the gearbox together and check gain. If no issues I would mount it back in the car and check again by hand and finally with the motor.

Obviously make sure the idlers etc are in good condition and you have no dirt in the or debris in the gear box.

If you have the alloy camber block on the rear then check that the screw that holds the opptional weights isn't going through the case and touching anything.

Also check that the screws into the gearbox from the chassis plate aren't too long and touching.

sand in the teeth the gearing.give them good clean. (not inside gear diff) the gears I. e 3/4 gear diff ones.

sounds like it's one of the top screws deforming the case at the top of the Diff section. Same thing happened to me. Use a shorter screw, and dremel out the deformed area so it clears the diff once again.
