Hi. I'm trying to progress with my buggy racing and I currently run a hobby wing 2.1 with updated software for boost and turbo.

Works great. But brakes are crap. Almost non existant.

Someone suggested orion as I run orion servo.

What ESC would people advise. Needs to run my 7.5 motor.

And not expensive program box

Cheers

Hi Tony.

Sounds like you might need to recheck your speedo setup and EPA on your transmitter before splashing out on a new ESC.

Set the transmitter brake EPA/travel to be full/100%.
Set brakes travel on ESC to be 100%.
Reprogram the ESC (power on holding set button until red light flashes).
Leave Tx throttle at neutral and press ESC set button
Full throttle held on Tx and press ESC set button
Full brake held on Tx and press ESC set button (3 bleeps).
Release back to neutral and give full beans then full brakes and it should stop instantly!!

Normally in 2wd I run 75-90% brake EPA on Tx to dial in feel and grip levels.
4wd 90-100%.

Hope this helps!

Are you sure you have maximum brake force set on the esc?
Also, make sure your end points are set in 100% on brakes.

I've had hobbywing v2.1 and clone versions for years and the brakes can lock up the wheels if set at 100%.

Cheers guys.
Ive recalibrated numerous times.

Tx is futaba 3vc. Had it many years and im.100% certain that its all fine.
Everything throttle/brake related is on 100%
Esc is set to 100% brake. 15% drag brake

Fairly short straight today indoors on carpet.

Round the sweeper. Nail it. Then brake 5 or 6 yards before apex to get round tight. It just so damn slow and pathetic.

Running hobbywing motor. Bought as a pair to.try and avoid any issues.
