Hi I've just got a new 6.5 Xcelorin setup and this is my first step into the world of brushless and Lipo...
I've successfully updated the firmware to the current version but wanted to know which profile I am altering when using the software on the PC.
Is this profile 1 - default - that is shown and being altered or am I altering either profile 4 or 5? In short do I need to select a profile other than 1 - the factory default profile on the ESC to use the custom settings?
thanks

The different profiles 1,2 & 3 are stored in the ESC, 4 & 5 you can write and store to the ESC yourself. these are used as a quick change if you do not have the PC handy or the setup board provided
When you change the settings using the software it doesn't matter what profile you are in because in effect you are changing the whole profile.
When you find the settings you like you can
1 save them on your pc (export) then reload when you want (import)
2 use the setttings and write to profile 4 or 5. then you can recall them by using the red button on the on/off switch to change the profile.
Hope that is clear:)

I think so...
So whatever I have transfered from the PC software to the ESC is the current profile - yes?
If I then wanted to put all 3 stock profiles back on the ESC I would reset the ESC and then I could program profile 4 or 5 and save my preferred profile to one of these but I would then need to select either option 4 or 5 via the ESC using the setup button on the ESC switch? Few a bit long winded but hopefully it's clear what I am saying?
Thanks again

I posted this on another thread. Should help:
The way the profiles work I believe is as follows :
- There is one 'active profile'. This is totally seperate to the 5 profiles you can select, and is the only one the controller ever actually uses.
- There are 5 saved profiles. 3 of which are defaults from losi and 2 of which you can modify. These are never used directly.
- When you select a profile, that profile is loaded into the active profile. i.e. you are never using a saved profile directly. You are simply loading it into the active profile.
- The QPC only modifies the currently loaded active profile.
So if you select a profile and then modify with QPC, the saved profile is completely untouched, what you have done is load it into the active profile and then modded that with the QPC.
The instructions are pretty poor explaining this (in fact they don't), but that is the only way of working that made sense to me from what little the docs said and my experience.
