hi hi,
any tip of fitting in lipo on RB5 ?
i got this yeah racing 4000mAhr lipo that I have problem fitting in.
There is 2 problems.
First, it is the little 2 protruding small block at the rear. This is to support the 2 screws that hold the t-block. I dunno if it make sense to file it off.
But I concern over the lack of support for the screw then.
Second is I am using GTB. Which is fairly big and the PCB plate is 0.5mm into the battery holding area.
Any advise ? many thanks.hi hi,

If you need to, dremel it, don't take off any more material than you need to.
Turn the GTB 90 degree's.

hi
i was speaking to nathan (niggs) he said he had to dremmel the lugs off too i have a trakpower 3600 and it fits fine without any dremmel work :D

I had my GTB 90deg in RB5 as i didn't like the pcb protruding. Had to dremel a fair bit of the chassis to make it fit though... eventually I changed to an LRP sphere for reason of fit. (I think the GTB is a superior speedo just doesn't RB5 well at all).

It maybe doesn't help too much now as you have the Lipo, but for others, the Orion 3800 30C, that is shaped is a really good fit, room for weight under the battery and just flip the battery strap over.
Have you guy used or tried the New Orion KO speedo, fit's really well too and early reports are excellent.
Cheers

i have dremmeld my lugs and not lost strenth but wasnt happy doing it and i made sure that the srews were glued in to aid it a little in the strenth department. some lipos fit without an issue as karl has said. as for speedo turn it 90 degrees so the pcb is towards the rear of the car then it sould fit without issue. i have currently got a nosram istc in mine with the fan mounted on the chassis to blow air across the heat sink but will be getting a tekin in there asap as it is sooooo much smaller and smoother to drive ;)

Hi Chris, check out the Orion home page, you can see it there, or it's pictured under the NEW RB5 SP link from Sharpy.
Many thanks

Found it, the Vortex Race and Experience both look very neat items.

The Vortex Race is a great esc, although who ever came up with the buggy profile can't have ever driven off road as the drag brake is rediculously strong, it's like instant full power brakes when your in neutral on the throttle stick :o

I've not got the car in fornt of me at the moment ..... anybody measured the distance between those lumps that people are dremelling off? Interested in how it compares to most of the LiPo packs that's all.
The RB5 is a relatively compact chassis and fitting some equipment in takes a degree of effort, but worth it to drive the best car out there!
My packs for this year all fit in just fine (as I would expect from good old sub-Cs) ... lol
Well the Orion PLatinium 2 fits fine it's just that it's so tall it barely fits under the battery strap and hence it's hard to get any lead under it. The carbon battery strap being a bit thinner helps with that.
