So... Who went back to the 4gear after driving the newer 3gear in the YZ2? And why?

Although I sold my YZ-2 a while ago, I had never considered returning to the 4-gear gearbox. Braking was so much better with the 3-gear that I also preferred it when traction was down a bit.

The 3 gear is easier to drive, but has less forward traction and ... IMO less brutal accelerations in between... Everybody can drive the 3gear, but real men drive 4 gear
Only when the grip is very high(EOS carpet for instance) I see benefits in the 3gear. For outdoors astro --> 4gear

I guess that's where the DTM version's new rear brace kicks in. On my car, I liked to play around with gearbox shims (https://www.shapeways.com/product/FWFKZUV2A/shims-yz2?optionId=59395934&li=marketplace) to increase forward bite. I also had a closed and keyed 2 mm brass version commissioned as a prototype part for possible series production, but as the machinist was not happy with the polishing yet, I never came to test it before my little break from the hobby early in last year. Maybe it will be finished in time for my next YZ-2. ;)
