3200mah lipo in 5 min race?

Will 3200mah last long enough for 5 min at 110c discharge, on 150A esc with 7.5T on 2wd buggy?

I run a 7.5 in a b6 and after topping up my battery after a 5 min run I have been taking 1200/1400mah out off it so 3200 should be fine.

8.5 in my KF2, on grass = 1300 mAh - that's 5 minutes plus at least a minute of 'warm up'.
7.5 (same) = 1400 ish mAh.

13.5 blinky in a 4wd touring car on dry tarmac with sticky tyres and mental gearing = 1500 mAh.

We carry much more capacity than we actually need. Then again, staying in the upper SOC range does deliver better punch, albeit a tiny amount more.

Long gone are the days of constantly worrying whether our 1700 SCRs will make it to the end of the final, or feeling the punch quickly dropping off!

I've accidentally used a 4200 in 3 heats, so about 18 minutes of driving.



Well, 17 really. The last minute was when i finally twigged that i'd put the same battery back in, rather than the freshly charged one. So the car going slower wasn't a mechanical/overheating issue.

That'll be fine.

I take anywhere from 1200-1600mah out of my pack and that's including several minutes of installation laps. I've be running a 2900mah LCG lipo with no problem at all.

Also, would it make a difference at club level if I purchased lipos with 100c burst rate that were budget packs e.g £30-£40 rather than say named premium brands costing £70-£90 ??????

Something like Turningy (Nanotechs) or Gens ace (slightly more expensive IIRC) will be fine. Some of the shit on eBay i'd not even want in the house.

I've not used 3200 lipos, but regularly use 4000s and do 2 heats per lipo. This only takes the voltage down to ~7.5v (I know, I'm not a quick driver).
I have used Turnigy Nanotechs and Zippy (reds) from Hobby king as well as Orions and can't tell difference, although I'd advise against the Zippy's as they seem to have bad internal connections and have had 2 that suddenly die (to zero volts) and can't be recovered.

what he said, done 3 heats with 7.5T in my 2wd without issue, still took an age to discharge.

My lad did about 45 minutes of practice and 2 heats on one pack, admitedly with a 17.5T motor :D
