I've done a good job so far of upsetting the 10th off road racing community with dumbass reports and the like - I fancy upsetting some touring car people this year at some point. I've no idea about touring car Nationals - how do they work, do people camp over and what's a good one to attend? I live close to Halifax track but never seen a National there - and it's a crap track for photos (you can't get in the track to take photos with brca and efra and personal insurance)
Are they 1 or 2 day things? etc etc....

or indeed, is there a dedicated 'oople' site where I can see info on these things?

Jimmy, dont do it............... you need to stay sane, watching/photographing cars go around a flat track all day long with no jumps is like being hipnotised, you wont remember where you parked your car and hence will never make it back to oOpleland, you would be "lost" at a touring car national forever....LOL

rcracechat??? haha

Nationals are 2 day events, some sleep overnight, lots do hotels.... 5 rounds this year I understand, they did have a meeting at Halifax last year though.

Jimmy

2 day nationals, 5 rounds:

West London
Halifax
Cotswolds
Snetterton
Mendip

Most of the info is on the BRCA central booking site, combined with the BRCA touring car site that is relatively new and being maintained by the section PRO. There isn't an independant "oOple" style site ;)

Jimmy,

they will look at you and any other off road racer like a 2nd class citizen. They moan if a track has a feature, or a twig on the track. You dont get dogs running on tracks, you dont get hammered on the fri or sat nights. I used to look forward to skimming my motors after the run just to relieve the boredom, but you cant even do that now. The tyres are even pre glued!!!!

Oh and dont cheer for anyone during the racing, tut tut

You guys all make it sound very unappealing indeed  Maybe I had in my mind it was like starsky and hutch, with tyre smoke and hub caps flying off.

Don't listen to the RC lawn mowing crew Jimmy!

TC nationals are very good and it would be amazing if you could do a report/review of one of them.
