Looking at buying a few Hobbyking X-Car 120A Brushless ESC's as they are very nicely priced.
I read you can update to the Hobbywing firmware, but can anyone confirm if the Hobbywing Wi-Fi Express module can be used to change settings on it once it's flashed with Hobbywong firmware?

No it wont work with the HW Wifi module, thats for the newer HW ESC's. The Hobbyking X-Car 120A is essentially a rebranded HW v2.1. It will take the firmware though and its a good ESC.
