Very old school, the Marui Samurai, chain driven 4WD with 3 differentials, which was quite unusual in it's day. Had single transverse shock at the front, not unlike the Hotshot.
The only properly dumb thing was that the wheels had no inside edge lip, which meant no matter how much you glued the tyres, they would end up sliding off the insides of the wheels
I used to run this with an 8.4v nicad and a Tamiya Technigold motor, and it was pretty quick!
Cheers!

God, I'm showing my age now but I remember them, along with the Zerda's and gold tubbed chassis RC10's

Oh yes, I remember seeing one for the first time at the Weston-Super-Mare outdoor track. I'm pretty sure I've even still got a magazine (Model Cars or RRC) with a review in it.

do i know it ..... i used to race one before i got a optima. i remeber the steering being so bad that you would turn 15 foot before a chicane to get through it :woot: i also remember that the chain made them really noisy n all but did enjoy it as it was a big step up from the hornet i had before:thumbsup:

I like the spot lights you have mounted on yours  well done!
