Having decided to resurect my old mardave, does antbody think it'll take a full modified motor (10x1) or am I better sticking to something more mild?

Don't do it Col, you'll kill the red cog in the gearbox!

19 turn will be quick enough :D

strewth, takes me back, yes, 19t max... stock even better, also, if your good with your hands, make a motor heatsink plate that screws to the chassis to try and take the heat away from the gearbox.

Going to give it it's first run in nearly 20 years next month at York if anyone wants a laugh...

If you haven't got the upgraded spur gear with ballraces I'd give it 10 minutes tops before it melts.

nothing upgraded Terry. Can 2" tyres still be bought?

Can 2" tyres still be bought?

Or can anybody tell me how to cut and shut in a nice way?
Is it as simple as chopping a tyre and removing .2 of an inch?

keep an eye on ebay, there was a load of old tyres on there not long ago, some of them were mardave angle spikes!!

Some of us have a stockpiled a few 2" spares ;)

Had the problem not so long ago of needing some 2.2 tyres to put on a buggy I was selling so anything would do, went through a big box of tyres and didn't find one pair. PM me what type you are after.
