i have been away from the rc scene for 14 years and man there has been some changes lol anyway onto the questions
i have just bought a losi xxx-cr and an xray t2 with a speed passion esc and brushless 13.5t and a demon 5000 20c lipo, now i have been told the speedo is limited to a 5.5t but i am unsure on what this sencored and not sencored motors is all about have i made the right decision or should i have gone sencorless:confused:

also i do want to find a motor for the summer season something around a 5.5 what motors are worth looking at bare in mind i am running to a tightish budget as i also have 2 kids that are starting racing with me lol

you wouldn't really want to run more than a 5.5 with lipo anyway, it's too much for the cars to handle.

sensored is more smooth than sensorless, but you're running a speed passion esc (assuming the lpf as it's limited to 5.5) which is a hybrid of both, sensored for smooth initial acceleration from the line, then switches to sensorless when you're moving.

As for motors... the speed passion v2 motors are great, but i've also tried the nosram, lrp, novak, hacker motors and to be fair they are all good.

nosram/lrp/speed passion seem more revvy than the novak/hacker motors.

With those Lipo cells, id go for a Novak 6.5R or an LRP 7.5 for the off roader.

For the kids, I don't know how young but id presume they'll start out 'trigger-happy' and more speed = more breakages. Try a Novak 10.5.... they are by no means slow, fast enough to be really good fun, steady enough to be easier to drive = less breakages. ;)

yeah the kids are 7 and 11 and they will be running my old speedo's cells and 27turn from years ago to keep the cars in 1 peice for a while lol fingers crossed for a star anyway
i was well suprised actually my old cells still charge and hold there charge just dont seem as punchy which should be sound for the kids
the next thing i gotta do is get 2 newer buggies for them something that is very strong and easy to get parts for lol

cheers for the advice buddy:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Another vote for a slower motor than most will suggest, I expect to run a 7.5 most of the time this year. With the 20C lipo a 6.5 might be OK if you run on big open tracks.
