Hi All, This may be a pretty dumb question but when using a lipo battery in a Tx do you have to treat them the same as the lipo batteries used in the car with regards to keeping them to a certain voltage level when not in use?
I race every other week so the Tx will not get used that much so would i have to storage charge the battery when not being used or are the batteries for the Tx handsets able to be charged and left untill they need charging again

you should not leave a lipo charged for long periods as it degrades the lipo hence storage charging,
I would suggest looking for a LiFe battery for your tx as they are OK being left charged

Definitely life.
My life battery has been fine for 2 years with virtually no care other than charging when flat.
The lipo in a second hand tx is fit for the bin already, it's only a little over a year old.

Unless you are very rigorous with looking after and managing your Lipos, I would also recommend LiFe rather than LiPo in a TX or RX.
I use LiPo but stick to three rules which - so far (ten years plus) - have meant I have not (yet) blown up my hands with the worlds most expensive fire-grenade...
Never charge your TX/RX LiPo to 100% - get a charger (I use Hyperion) that can stop at a set percentage (I choose 90%)
Never use it below a safe low voltage (for 3s, I stick to 11.0V). At 11V, change over to another 90% charged LiPo
Balance check the TX LiPo every few weeks and check the Overall Voltage every week
But don't do as I do - go get a LiFe - much easier...

Thanks for the reply's. I think a LiFe battery would would definitely be the best option for me.
