Does anyone know the average rpm or a ball park figure of a 27T stock motor.

From memory I think its around 30k RPM.
Obviously torque/ rpm versions will differ quite a bit despite offering similar overall power (eg:PK2 was designed with torque in mind & the monster with RPM)

Thanks, the reason im asking is because I was flicking through the user instructions to my Sphere Brushless ESC and noticed that there is a "Sportsman" setting in the drive/punch profile which limits rpm to 24,000rpm. Would this allow me to run my one star LRP Vector motor at a stock motor performance setting I wonder?

Very interesting, could be useful on low grip tracks ??

The plot thickens, there are a couple of guys running the novak 13.5 brushless motor at our local indoor club and thats, aparantly, comparable to the stock brushed motors.
Looking on the Novak website the 13.5R brushless motor puts out 3300rpm per volt. That equates to 23,760rpm using a 7.2v pack of cells. So could I get away with using my brushless motor on the "Sportsman" ESC setting with the 24,000rpm limit.

Thinking back to the old Novak system, you could limit the 5800 motor to a "stock" setting.
Problem was that the motor had all the rip low down of the full modified profile, then came to a sudden stop at the rev limit. Made for a curious driving experience that was not really comparable to a stock motor.
The good thing about the new Novak 13.5 is that it is simply a slow motor, not a software limit.
I think you would have to ask your club what they feel about your Sportsman setting, I don't think it is really equivalent to the 13.5 motor though.

That makes sense actually. May have to get me a 13.5R.
Cheers;)
