Am I doing something wrong, I have taken my BX outside on tarmac twice and twice I have damaged the drivebelt.

Also damaging rear pulley and spur gear.

The damage has occured where stones have got wedged in the rear diff and underneath the belt.

Three of us took our bx`s out onto a car park for testing this morning, the testing lasted 2 mins with 3 belts with chunks out of them and 2 x spur gears with flat spots.

I have got the lexan front and rear diff covers on my car and have also placed a vertical piece of lexan at the very back of the diff.

The pic shows the rear piece of lexan removed so as the pic could be taken.

I assume you are running with the body on? Also looking at your photo, your rear right camber link ball stud in your hub is coming out. I have a line down the center of my belt from a a small pebble or something. It has not affected performance but I still don't like it......

Thanks for the pics Bathy, will try to do something like that.

Yes running with the shell on as per kit and the extra lexan piece at the back of the diff.

I didnt know if the stones could be coming up from the front of the car, through the holes for the steering linkages or the hole at the top of the bodyshell to vent the motor ???

All 3 cars had damage to the rear drivebelt after running for less than 2 mins. Its was just a normal tarmac carpark we were running on.
