Anybody able to replace the steering potentiometer on a Sanwa Gemini X?
I've contacted Model Radio Workshop already but he can't help.
I don't fancy sending it off to LRP in Germany, which is the official Sanwa response.
Cheers

If you're handy with a soldering iron have a go yourself. You just need an identical pot, same resistance and range of angle. 3 wires and it's done. :)
You might even find it's not the pot once it's opened up, might be as daft as a wire off or the pot jumped off somehow.

Could of sworn his son said he was still doing it when I was speaking to him at the indoor season. Maybe not

Cheers guys.
It's definitely the pot. If I swap channels on the rx the steering, through the throttle stick, is fine. It's not dead all together but it kind of "glitches" for want of a better word when moved slowly. All the wires are ok as I had it apart last night.
Finding a pot might be the next step if no one else can help.

I tried really hard to find a Sanwa pot the same as in the gimbals and failed.
Swapping it is easy, finding the correct spec part isn't.

Give me the specs then Neal - see if I can have more luck.
Someone obviously makes them or they wouldn't have been installed in the first place.

I've got photographs and I noted down the sizes somewhere, but i may have binned the note paper now? Its some Japanese component, and I searched everywhere.

That does look oddball, not seen a bottom pin type like that for ages - back in my CB radio days!
What might be worth a try is unsoldering it from the daughterboard, carefully prising open the metal lugs on the back and opening it up. Clean the carbon track with some contact cleaner, clean the wiper and check there's enough pressure on it, and bend the tangs down gently for a bit more if it hasn't.
Used to do this trick when i was a kid.

Someone take some photos of the pot and i'll see if i can source a replacement. It will be easy to swap.
