Hi all

Suffering major overheating problems to the point where my battery connectors have melted!

I'm running a Tamiya DB01 with an LRP brushless set up in (9.5) and a 4600 NiMH battery. After about 15 mins fairly quick driving it all gets a bit hot, yesterday the connectors melted, any one any clues as to how I can stop this happening. There's a 'slipper' fitted and 26t pinion (too high??)

What connectors do you use? If it is Tamiya-style (white plastic), then that's the problem. Those are too weak for anything more than a silver can 540.

Get some Deans or Corally-style (4mm bullet) connectors and you will be fine.

15 mins is a long time, and you want to go down to about a 21-22

I've got a 21t, i'll try that along with changing the connectors. It has the white plastic standard Tamiya ones on that can't cope! How do the 'deans' type ones fit on? is it just a case of snip off the old ones and solder them on?

yeah jus solder them on use some heat shrink on the wires after you have soldered them on and you will be fine
