Hi all
Not being a XXX specialist
Can anyone tell me the difference and which is more superior
And which driveshafts to use.
The case on the left has RTR on the case.
Thanks

can't tell from the photos but I don't remember the xxx having different transmission configurations.
You could however get most parts in a choice of graphite, or standard composite.
Is that the difference?
If one is stamped rtr but otherwise looks the same it's probably just a cheaper plastic.
For the driveshafts You have a standard Losi dogbone on the left of the photo and a MIP driveshaft on the right.
The Mip driveshafts were sold as an upgrade and fitted to the more expensive versions of the xxx. If you use the Mip driveshafts make sure that the grub screws is assembled with strong threadlock. If you don't the driveshafts will self destruct.
I never noticed any difference whatsoever between the 2 types of driveshaft on the track, but Mip driveshafts were supposed to be smoother and give better traction.

Realised I'd forgotten a few things yesterday.
The xxxx and xxx kinwald edition used the same transmission.(but possibly with different materials - graphite or composite.) The standard xxx came with losi dogbones but the kinwald addition used MIP.
There was also dirt spec version of the car which came with bushings as standard but I'm not sure if that involved a different transmission case.
The xxxx BK2 changed the transmission and most rear end components and came with shorter MIP driveshafts. I think the plastic was grey, the transmission was more upright and sat lower in the car. It did not fit a standard xxx and the difference would be obvious.
The XXXCR transmission I think reverted to the same design as the original xxx but it used another different material and may be stamped EA3. Most of the suspension components were different and the driveshafts may be a different length again. It came with losi dog bones. (I never owned this version)

The RTR case was never on the XXX buggy I don’t think. They sold it with some of the truck style cars and I think it was a gear diff! The idea being it was less maintenance I guess?
