Easter Egg Race!

Southport's Annual Easter Egg Meeting is confirmed.... It will be held on Easter Sunday (when else could we?)

There will be races for 2wd, 4wd & Trucks - and each finalist will get an Easter Egg. Hopefully.

Booking in from 10.30am - Heat One on the line at 11.30am
You can book-in online (http://www.srcc.co.uk/bookingin.html) too.

So What? Should we not run our meeting?
We know it clashes with other races and the fact that is clashes makes no difference to us whatsoever. It's amazing sometimes meetings do clash with others - yet they still go ahead.

We are just advertising the fact we have our annual Easter Egg meeting on Easter Sunday. Not everybody is racing at the NEO or Kidderminster, and they may like to know about another meeting somewhere else.

Unusual I know, but I haven't been paying attention. Now I realise the deadline for booking in has passed but I am really looking forward to doing the easter egg regardless of it clashing with stuff  "call the press"

Any chance of accepting late entry, or am I okay to just turn up on the day?

If you mean late netry for the easter egg, just turn up and book in as normal...

Yes, you can just turn up on the day and book-in.

The purpose of the pre-booking was to to attempt to gauge the need for eggs - it didn't work so back to square one!

Booking in will start at 10.30am and racing will start at 11.30am. approximately.

The SRCC canteen will be there - I think Jez said a while back he will be coming with his shop, and there will be plenty of easter eggs in attendance too.

Personally, I wish the NEO would move their meeting, because we have had an Easter Egg Race every Easter for years - they are new to this game! :p

Does anyone know if there is a shop at southport on Sunday, I know Jez cant make it. Im in desperate need of a spur and im hoping there will be someone there who will be able to sort me out?! Damned Easter post!!

Im taking part in a destruction test of the cat, after one outing I have managed to test and break the majority of components and I am anticipating thoroughly (crash) testing the remainder:cry: !

Cheers.

If Jez is not coming then there is no trackside shop.

Speedy Models in Preston have a guy who brings stuff down to the track if you pre-order.

So I believe with a bit of adjustment, I think I may have to give it a miss, at least it will give me some time to get a box of spares for the car.

Cheers anyway.

I'm pretty sure someone could sell you one at the meeting, there'll be a few cats racing, so i'd imagine there'll be spares knocking about, or put an ad in the wanted section, maybe you'll get lucky

i'm thinking it could be the nyloc nut loosening, replacing mine with a new nut after every rebuild solved the issues i had, and i stuck a extra nut on for good measure aswel, so no chance of it working loose.

captainslow..... when you've removed the stripped spurs, is the center hole out of shape or deformed?

Yes it is, it melted to the shaft first time! Maybe its slipping excessively??

sorry for hijacking the thread!

i'd say your problems the slipper loosening and not the motor mount moving, replace the nyloc with a new one, and for extra security, put an extra nut on it and lock the nuts up tight to each other once you've reset your slipper, you should be ok then:thumbsup:.

cheap nyloc nuts ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STAINLESS-STEEL-NYLOC-LOCK-NUTS-M3-MODELS-50-PACK-WOW_W0QQitemZ150166849230QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_DIY _Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ?hash=item150166849230&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STAINLESS-STEEL-NYLOC-LOCK-NUTS-M3-MODELS-50-PACK-WOW_W0QQitemZ150166849230QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_DIY _Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ?hash=item150166849230&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318)

Chrislong

Just lock the nut up so the slipper is tight, thats all I do. I threadlock the screw in, and have never changed the nut.

Edit: The reason I do this, is the SX spurs melt as easily as cheese, so I don't allow my slipper to slip which would generate enough heat to do it. What I would do is use Losi Kevlar spur and slipper pads, I may do this once I have some money to buy some spurs.

Simon - the track is closed until the layout for the day has been built, so please do not turn up early and practice on it.

Once the track is built, then feel free to practice as much as you are able to.

Unfortunately there are parts of the track still under construction ( Tarmac corner & some of the grass sections have been treated) these will be shuttered off for the meeting.
I should think most people will be down before 10am, So as soon as the track is laid we can get practice under way. So the quick answer to your question is no, Sorry
