Hi all. I don't know if anyone can help as we are looking to get astroturf that is suitable for racing for our new venue at GlasgowRC. Initially we are looking for 1500m2 of astro but we may look for an additional 1500m2 for the pit area and a beginners track.

Speaking to various people they have advised we make sure we get the right type - a mesh type that is more like carpet. Unfortunately the brand new astroturf similar to Southport or Stotfold is out of our reach financially at 20k plus for our track area. So, we are looking for recycled astro of the right type and we need to get it to Glasgow.

Looking into it, it seems that hockey pitches, tennis courts, and multi use games areas (MUGA) seem to be the sort to go for. Your advice is appreciated if I'm looking in the wrong direction (see below).

- 2G Sand infill
- 2G Sand Dressed
- Multisport Synthetic – Also known as needlepunch, this is the most versatile artificial turf specification. It is designed with a curly yarn which encapsulates its sand infill, making for a durable multipurpose surface. The playing qualities are perfect for a general multi use games area including football, basketball, tennis, hockey and other activities.

I believe that certain places give it away free but you have to pay for carriage. Does anyone have any contacts for Astro as our contact is being a little slow and we want to get cracking with our track prep.

Many thanks

Hi all

We're also in need of Astroturf in the near future for our club track build...Duncan I've tried to email you via your club website, Darren, I've dropped you a DM on here.

If either of you (or anyone else) could help us out with advice, pointers, or even potential suppliers I'd really appreciate a chat. Looking for advice on surface prep also if poss; how deep, what infill, machinery, cost, anything at all so we don't have to do it twice!

Drop me a DM? Can provide phone or email.

Thanks all, Andrew Coley, 1066 Racing (Hastings)
