View Full Version : Returning to RC after a ten year break
The hobby got pushed to the side as life does have a funny way of changing priorties. Dug out my old kit got some fresh batts and had some fun now im looking something thats an upgrade from an old TT01 that struggles with handling a mamba 6900kv. Any suggestions that have a good availability of spares and is reliable ?
Your best bet is to contact your local club to see what classes and rules they run. Most clubs use Facebook these days so that's where I'd start.

I don't think any touring car could handle a 6900kv motor. That's an off road motor, even the top spec touring cars are geared to run something equivalent to around 3000-3500kv at most.
For that motor look at any high end 4wd buggy, we usually use 7.5T or 8.5T motors in those which have similar performance to your 6900kv motor.
Thanks for taking the time for the advice, yeah I had the mamba running in a B4 I guess off road 4wd is where these belong. Looks like nearest club are running stock TT02's so that might be an option going forward, need to see post lockdown how things look.

TT02s are a simple class to get started with, easy to build and easy to drive, but it can be pretty hard to be consistently fast(ish!) It will get back into driving again
It's also a hell of a lot cheaper to get started than almost any other class.
