The first BRCA Mid South regional event is now just over three weeks away. We already have 45 entries (30 in the regional class and 15 split between the two open classes) which is more than any round last year, but we still want more!!!

If you are not yet booked in and intend to do this event then get yourself on to the booking in site and get signed up as soon as possible.....

Doors open at 8am, mains will be available through selected points but please do bring 12 volt as a backup (in a container), catering will be available all day with hot and cold, drinks and snacks available from within the hall.

Heres to a good meeting and indeed and good series in both 2wd and 4wd this year in the Mid South

Just a quick question (or two).

What tyres would be suitable and what is the track surface?

Looking forward to racing !!!!

Most popular tyre by far will be the Schumacher Yellow Minipin although dont be alarmed to see a few people runing Yellow Minispike since the grip is VERY high.

The surface is Primafelt carpet for approx 70/80% of the track but there will be some slippery gym floor sections too. We also intend to use some alternative grip levels of carpet in places too to mix things up combined with several ramps/jumps, bot dots, ripple section and maybe more........

OK, booking in is now closed for the first round. We currently have 68 entries all booked in to 8 heats now ready for sunday, with more possible late entries on the day expected too.

Very strong chance that we will be using the AMBrc system (with thnaks to the guys at Stotfold MCC) so please bring any PT's if yuo have them (all entered PT's have been input tonight for those who submitted them)

Limited mains will be available, but please do bring 12 volts (in containes) as a probable requirement.

You will each need you own pit table and chair with you as well as your BRCA card for when booking in.

Cost is £8 pre booked for the BRCA 2wd class (£12 on the day), £5 for either Truck or 4wd open classes (£8 on the day)

Trophies for TQ and first place only in every 2wd final.

Track will consist of 70% primafelt carpet/30% slippery floor with numerous ramps, jumps, obstacles and off road themed features.

Doors will open at 8am (no earlier) booking in will start at approx 8:30/8:45 with practise open up until 10:30pm. Each round will start on the hour or as near to it as possible (round 2 11:30, round 3 12:30, round 4 1:30) Finals will start at 3pm with 3 legged A final for 2wd and single leg for all others. Expected trophy presentation and finish approx 4:15pm

Hot and cold food and drink snacks will be available on site, please do not bring in outside food into the premises (Parmiters Sports Centre request)

See you all there bright and ealry on sunday mroning (unless of course you are helping set up the track in which case 5pm saturday night...HELPERS only no slackers!!! LOL)

Thanks to Darren and all the DMS crew for a great start to the Mid south regional series, the track was a sensible indoor layout which made for some great qualifying and racing.

Well done to Bloomy for the win and KRob for getting a good start to the series in 2nd.... you wait until i learn to keep the car on its wheels! then there'll be trouble! :). Also Kit who managed to sneak into 3rd from 7th i think on the grid!

See you all next week at Swindon..... 4.5 going in the car now...

Cheers Kev, glad you enjoyed it, the feedback from everyone was that it was to their liking including the facilities, track and everything that goes with it.

Shame in some ways that the weather was so nice today since it would of been "ideal" for the traditional early poor weather when we were all indoors, we may have even attracted a few more racers who defected to other regions etc too (scared of the competition I reckon!! LOL)

We had a good mix of all abilities and ages racing today from the superstars like yourself, Bloomers and Keith Rob in the A, through to many young up and coming youngsters in the lower finals, as well as the "comeback tour boys" all in the B final (Andy Shaw, Dave Burton, Jamie Holmes, Myself and Tony Evdoka) it was like a regional from the mid 90's with all the old faces.

With a total of 68 racers (pkus we still had three no shows on the day ) the turnout was superb and as I have laready said may have ben even better if the weather had have been poor, so well pleased with the numbers, lets hope that they continue through the other rounds too.

Big Thanks to Keith and John from Stotfold for the loan of the AMBrc system and other equipemnt as well as the help with race control and scrutineering etc, could not have done it without you guys

Also HUGE thanks to all the DMS MCC members who helped with the track laying and putting away and rostrum etc...

Top job Guys - really enjoyed the meeting.
Thought the track was ace. Had enough features to keep you interested without turning it into an obstacle course.

Kev, beaten by a broken car running brushed and Nimh - honestly...
And I have no doubt you will make up for it next time!
