Now this isn't a huge modification, its pretty tiny compared to some things on here. But anyway, the moulded aerial mount in my b4 snapped a while back, I had resorted to gluing the aerial to the remaining mount which obviously wasnt a great idea and I snapped the aerial wire removing the aerial. Anyway, I fixed the aerial wire and set about mounting it a better way. Now some people would buy a new chassis, but for £25 I thought, if I bought a new one its a waste of the old one so why not have a go and see what happens. I removed the plastic aerial mount from my touring car as I couldn't get a alloy one. Here are the results, not perfect but seems to do a job. Please excuse the ruined shell :P

Did you cut the hole in the shell with a knife and fork?

Ha, might aswell. I just did it with a stanley knife. Was a bit late so I wasnt too concerned. Im not so fussed on how the shell looks, its knackered anyway.

Its unfortunate that you broke the aerial mount on your chassis, the fix seems completely acceptable. Id recomend a small square of carpet tape to cover the hole from underneath tho.

As for the shell? I like the quality of your aerial hole, you could smoothen it up with a soldering iron ;) :D

If it wasn't late, would you have been concerned more? Did you check your watch first? What time does the concern stop? :D

A bit of black tape on the shell and nobody will tell anyway.

just a question.. how did you actually manage to break the mount? this is the first i've personally heard of one breaking.

I'd just slap a new chassis on the rig and use that one as a spare, but thats just me....

I cant really afford a new chassis and I doubt any difference in handling etc

Well I guess some people think its a bit bodged but it holds and I assume the chassis will only be slightly weakened. Glad to see some people agree with me
