Going to be running the X60 a bit outdoors (NE regionals), I've got some minispikes but comparred to the truck the spikes seem very small all of a sudden. I've also got some stagger ribs. However......

Looking at VEE's
VEE2

&
VEE4

Which gives better drive and which better sidebite? Do they have bigger spikes that the mini spikes?

To complicate things, you seem to any be able to get the VEE2's in Yellow, but not the 4's?

Maybe that solves my problem? But trying to find out from those THAT ACTUALLY RUN TRUCKS (Southport guys?) what does what?

Surely someone must have some experience?

I have both types in blue compound but haven't had the chance to run them yet! I will be running the truck this sunday so I will do some testing and let you know what they are like.;)

Hi Dan

only just seen this post.....

I used to run the trucks regularly at Southport, and a lot of people still race them. When I ran the T4, I found yellow minispikes and stagger ribs to be a good compromise.

But, for silly amounts of grip I found pro-line step pins (http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml_category.php?catId=67&catPage=2&range=RACING) on the rear and stagger ribs (again) up front were a good combination. They had excellent side bite (probably due to the side wall deforming so much) whilst the wear rate was also good (4 weeks to a pair easily) the grip remained consistent through the range.

So M3(?) step pins, do they give good drive on grass?

In my experience of them in a XXX-T, they gave good drive on grass, yes. They gave better drive on astro turf though.
