Electic 8th

Would there be any chance of running a class of elec 8ths on the 4wd Regional days if thre is enough people to do it?

Don't forget that these are official BRCA events, so I doubt there will be a "re-think"

Plus, don't they allow clubs to run 'non regional' heats anyway, to make up the numbers. So why not allow the 'club' to run the 1/8th class. I don't see a problem myself.

hmmmmmm.... I smell too much track damage from 1.8th electric, especially on Bents park which turns to dust quickly.

you can run an eleci 1/8th at any club raceday at NRX :D

think the main prob with electric 8th from what i can see is dedicated nitro clubs see them as a threat and if raced in with the nitros would have an advantage because their less prone to just die plus with some of the higher spec lipos out they can run a full 20 min final without a stop and for the 10ths there is the fear that they will cause too much damage to the track........... dont get me wrong im all for them but untill theres a dedicated set of rules layed out by the brca then theres always going to be someone umming n arring about how to make the racing fair. each club is making their own rules up at the mo as far as i can see.

If it was run as a "None regional heat" i guess it should be fine? - Not saying mix them with 10th cars or anything. From what ive heard Blyth is going to hold E8th meets' on the track when they are up and running and the NRX track already runs both 10th and 8th Nitro and E8th's too so the fear of damage to the track is irelevent really. I think half the damage caused by an 8th car is the crap that comes out of the exhaust with there being oil and un burnt fuel and things can acelerate wear, were as the E8th is more track freindly..

More money for the clubs too at the end of the day?

yeah that is true and maybe needs a natural grass club to let them run to find out........ nitro fuel can strip paint afterall

Easiest way is If raced against nitro in a 20 min final mandatory stop and go pit stop would have to be implemented on the electric cars if they could run for the full 20 mins ( which is what will be done at NRX). I can get 10 mins out of a tank so 1 pit stop in a 20 min final is all thats needed then its a level playing field. I dont see them as a threat at all as it will bring elecric racers to 1/8th scale as there is no way they could be ran indoors at school halls etc so the permanent tracks would benefit from the extra income.

All electric 1/8th are welcome at NRX.

its just a shame all clubs don't have that attitude. how do the 8e's compare to the nitros? id guess could take a slightly different different line as the throttle curve would be different? i totally agree outdoor tracks would defo benefit and im sure as this class develops then tracks could be adjusted to accomodate.
