Do you mean the little white tail that sticks out the end of the grey antenna cable is missing? One of mine is missing that and it pairs up fine.
I thought the receiver had 2 antenna systems, internal and external so surely it should pair up even if the cable was missing completely?
If you bought it off here and it does not work maybe you should name and shame on the feed back thread :(

yeah, its the white tail bit....i would of thought it would work too but i asked 2 other people to try and they both said the same, missing the antenna part, thats why it don't work.....maybe its something else that's stopping it from working??
i did leave bad feedback but alot of people said he was good!!

I'm sure I saw a replacement aerial on the Ripmax website for £7.95 but cannot seem to find it now, only the extended aerial for £14.95. Probably worth asking any Ripmax agent if they can get one.
As for the aerial, the grey part of the wire is co-axial cable and hence the aerial wire is shielded, it is the unshielded bit sticking out the last 6cm or so that actually receives the signal. You could try cutting back the grey sheath and braiding to expose the inner wire, but you'd need to be very careful not to damage the inner wire.
