all the parts for any of the pro lab range of cars are available from http://www.modeltech.co.uk/...

here is the main rclab site : http://www.rclab.co.uk/sys/ .

parts are available direct from the company here : http://www.rclab.co.uk/sys/index.php?option=content&task=category&id=67&sectionid=3&Itemid=29 , there is a contact number for them on the main page.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but the RCLab has probably got the worst diffs out there, they use spindly diff screws, and the way the diff is designed, the screw ends up being under a lot of pressure, to tighten the diff to stop the diff from slipping.

Buy short springs, otherwise you wont get below 6mm ride height.

Spares... hmmm.... you will have fun.

Oh, selling one afterwards, it took me a year to get shot of mine.

they aint exactly difficult to get hold of, when the car broke last time the spares came ok  .

as for the diff parts and ride height. its not a real bother, ill be running the car at a local club, not top level stuff, its just to run around for fun so i dont break my xx4... :)

I have had one or two of these, they are good to drive, just the diffs are a real mare to live with, and not exactly easy to service.

wonder what it would be like as a buggy?

Heh, don't ask Mike to do a mod for it, it took 18months for the layshaft to be designed and released, Diff has taken 2 years so far...

there used to be a couple of modelshops but I think it is now most exclusively Modeltech. I dunno if he improved since I ran a Lab, but me and a freind down here would have no end of problems with parts orders. I think the current design is about 3-4 years old now, slightly tweaked got GP3700 extra weight.

Had one. Never again.

Very quick in a straight line, corners were another matter.

Although spares back-up is great, and Mike @ Modeltech is a very helpful bloke.

I only ever found the diffs to be a mare, and electrics space, and once the ride height issue was resolved, car worked well, just was an aweful lot of maintenance between runs with the diffs.

I used to race for RClab a few years ago. The Lab is a good ncar indoors with a stock but as somebody has already mentioned the diffs are poor in more ways than one. what they suggested was a good idea regarding the spring. Also the outdrive wear on the diff can be a problem. I appologise if this problem has now been rectified as it was 2003-04 season when i raced one at da nats. RCLab offer three kinds of diffs. the plastc standard ones which are light but the outdrives snap easily if you crash. An aluminium one where the outdrive wears so the driveshaft wobbles and finally a steel unit which however heavy would last you a season.
On the plus side the drivetrain is very efficient and will be quick with whichever motor you install and the parts are cheap in relation to other company's gear.

Would have been better if the reciever was under the top deck stuck to the back of the steering servo then your MRT on its side thats the way its meant to be done.
Thats how I did mine its lovely and neat then if you have a pt you can mount it just in front of the receiver and none of it interferes with the belt.

Hope that helps

The Rc Lab is a nice car, but it has got the worst diffs ever. Currently, it seems like spares can only be bought in the UK . The Rc Lab is made by a Hong Kong company and both the company and the car has long been defunct.

isn't there a problem with weight being too far back?

someone at my club was running a chassis car(i think) the other week that had the cells at the back, and it handled rubbish
