Is this right?

I have ordered a part from a model shop that they said was out of stock, I said ok, I will wait for it to come back into stock, and gave them my details including bank card etc... they have ordered the item, but I obviously haven't recieved it yet, the money has left my account though...? Are they alllowed to take the money yet? :confused:

I'm sure someone posted on another thread saying it's not allowed, but it's also not that unusual, especially if it's an online purchase!

This was over the phone...! :( .. it wasnt for a lot of money at all, but the thing I'm a little concerned about is when I went racing the other night, I was chatting about this part I need, and my mate said you cant get hold of this item anymore.

Have you phoned them to ask why they've taken the money? And when they will be sending you the item?

Not yet, wanted to know if they can take the money first... I only phoned them thursday... I know the distributor has to order the part in too.. I asked the distributor if the part was in stock, they said no, it will take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

Well i'm not sure on the technical details but in moy opinion they shouldnt take the money if they dont actually have the item to sell to you! I'd phone them and ask why they've taken the money :thumbdown:
