Looks like a bodyshell option for the DF-03 chassis.

@ Brat
Off-topic I know, but that avatar you've got - it's a Nikko brat. Do you have one? I have the first conversion kit but for the life of me can't find the second kit :(

Sorry to dissappoint you, but this body seems to be for the mini 4wd racers, not for a 1/10th RC car :
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=15369
But I would LOVE to see an original Avante reissue, not the Avante 2001 but the original, over-engeneered aluminium contraption that the Avante was :D !
I already bought the Frog and Hornet reissues and I'm rebuilding me original 80'ies Tamiya Wild One (my first ever RC car) .
Would also love a Hotshot reissue.
Jimmy, we should have a thread or poll on to be reissued vintage Tamiya's. My vote go to :
1. Hotshot
2. Avante
3. Fox.

Did I offer my opinion on this?
*BLEURGH*
There y'go.
I may post this on every forum that has a picture of this ... travesty is too strong a word.
The Avante was a tour de force. Not a personal favorite, but I could see it's cool factor. Reinvoking it's memory with a badly shaped shell on the DI's chassis, won't do.
Although modern day cam-lock wheels would be cool regardless of how heavy they are.
Elliott.

Hmm, is this a photoshop image????? Definately a DF-03 chassis. Just the same as the first pic:confused:

What in the name of chuffnuts is that supposed to be?
heavily massively photoshopped - but why? :eh?: The front of the chassis has been 'chopped off', the gold stuff looks like it used to be chrome or even black (yeah I know the inside of the wheels is black)
but, wheres it from?

ok ok, I know what it is, just a mock up using an enlarged photo of the 'Jr' series of mini battery cars (1/32nd?) overlayed over the DF03 chassis..
No wonder it looks so hideous! haha.
I am sure the real deal will look many times better than this.

For those interested in an original vintage Avante :

Take some nitro fuel to get rid of that hidious red paintjob, order a sticker set and I guess you have a beautiful vintage racer or shelf queen !
Sometyhing for you Northy ? BTW, how's the RC10T doing ?

bender, you're sharp! That's my first race specs Brat converted from Super Sprint in 1990. Not to mention about the kit, you can't even get the spares nowadays. LOL! Yeah. Its still running for me...my avatar had been taken only weeks back. Do you still have yours? I just restored the Brat and now moving on to my RC10.

I have the first kit - got it really cheap of ebay for about US$40 :)
Problem is, I've yet to find the second kit by itself. They aren't coming up on ebay anymore, and the last time I saw both kits together, they were around US$400 :(
So I just have to work out how long I'm wiling to wait for the 2nd kit, or maybe by an old SuperSprint or Dandy Dash and convert it.

Bender, you might wanna try emailing to nikko america as they still carry some parts for SuperSprint and Dandy Dash. You just gonna fix it up bits by bits with whatever you cab get a hand of. If you need the manual or any other parts, just pm me and I'll see if I have them spare.
aawww man, I had a nikko Supersprint, was quite a handy car on the car park we were racing on, and fully ballraced, was ace.

Back in days, Nikko Brat (converted from Super Sprint) was one of the pioneer for belt driven and top the 4WD race world. One of the top UP works driver, Kenny Chua from Singapore, had numerous winnings in International races using Brat. Until today, I still think that the making was TERRIFIC!

Hey Jason, very nice :)
Have you worked out how you're going to paint the body? I think the brat has one of the best looking bodies on an off-roader. I saw an excellent black one on the rc-off site.
What's the story with the alligator clip on the back wing?

Its good to see that these cars are still around and yours looks brilliant BRAT.Im still learning about these cars and I appreciate you showing pics of your cars.As for the alligator clip on the rear wing,I wnted to see how a different wider rear wing would look so I temporarily borrowed one from my Losi.Currently having the Brat body and wing repro'd so I will work out a paint scheme when they arrive back with me.I dont suppose you guys have a spare belt I could buy that will fit the BRAT build up from the Sprint? I have 4 spares but they seem too short.

Jason I sent you an email.
Yes I am running a 501, but have only had a couple of practice runs so far.
Still running the stock setup except for the front one-way.
As for tyres most guys up here run:
Front: taper Pins, Holeshots, Blockheads
Rear: Taper Pins, Holeshots, x-2000's
Buying tyres locally is a pain - too little stock and too expensive. I'm trying to organise some o/s but getting 4wd fronts is quite difficult.
As I mentioned in my email, the Qld titles are in June at Ipswich, I'm planning on running the 501, just need a buggy for 2wd now.
Apparently, due to water restrictions, their track is now a mixture of hard packed clay and astro turf - so I'm not sure what tyres will work there - sounds good though:)

Sorry I do not have the spare yellow shock mount. However, he can use his Super Sprint red mounting with 3mm aluminium spacers to mount it on to the front bulk head. This is the earliest version of Brat. I still have the Nikko Catalogue 1989 and happened to see this way of mounting. Hope these help.
As for the belt, have you thought of using other make's? Any chance of finding similar ones? Like Tamiya's etc?

I thankyou for your suggestions,I'll pass them on to my friend and see what he can do.Do you think you might be able to get some pics of your catalogue with the BRAT pictures up on this thread? As for the longer belt,I will try local supliers of belts to see if I can obtain one here.Thankyou again-Jason.
As per your request buddy!
