501X Pinion Question

Using a Mamba Max 6900 with a 19 tooth pinion on my 501X. The car is a rocket, but the ESC gets pretty hot and the motor is hardly warm. I forget, am I supposed to got higher or lower on the pinion if my ESC is much warmer than my motor?

would imagine lower - usually to high gearing makes things warm - your esc should contain a gearing chart indicatins an optimum final drive ratio - with this infor and a 501x gearing chart (can be found on here) you can see which pinion to use
