Hi

I know i need to cut off 1.5 coils off my silver spring but i want to know does the very top coil that isnt really a coil count as the one coil or is it 1.5 coils below the first little coil.

I have taken a picture i mean does the orange bit count as a coil.

Why do you need to cut a coil off.

It stiffens the spring slightly, without having to change spring. As it's not as big a change as going to a harder spring

It does count...
Most spring calculation programs I have come across on the t'interweb ask for number of free coils, which means you dont have these coils in the calculation....

It's best to check a known spring first, Losi and Assoc provide spring rates.... from there you can work if you need to count the end coils or not....
